Libraries
South Carolina libraries have been doing a remarkable job making obituaries accessible online. The list to the right features the sites I use for finding death dates. For example, if I can locate a death date in the Spartanburg index then I may be able to locate an obituary in The State paper.
Try some of these sites and, certainly, let me know of any others.

Another update
The Richland County Public Library obituary index is not completely ready to be available online. There is a temporary link on this blog to the site. Hopefully it will be available from the Richland County web site soon. Please make any requests to: contactperiodcals @richland.lib.sc.us. Please only three requests at a time.
