1940 Census

* The 1940 census has been a hot topic on the Genealib listserv. I am not sure why since the release is still a long way off but I was completely amused by the countdown clock on the National Archive site. This post title links to the site.

* There is a new addition to the digitized newspapers section. North Carolina Archive has recently released several newspapers covering 1750-1890. The link has been added to the Online Newspapers information.

* The Dead Librarian is trying out Twitter so if you are twittering check it out. I am not sure what to do with it but I have been adding information about updates to the obituary index. It is a nice way to let users know right away what has been added.

* Finding and adding new links to the SC Online Indexes section is what this blog is all about and I added a new one for Greenville County Marriages. SC now has online marriage license indexes for Charleston, Greenville, Richland and Lexington. It will only get better!

This countdown clock is a wonderful concept to know about the actual census structure. By this way we can get to know every new arrival and every death per second worldwide.
